Catering

If you plan to use caterers at your event, please ensure they are registered with their local authority and have a Food Hygiene Rating of 3 or above.

Please refer to the Dorset market traders and mobile food vendors/caterers guidance for full guidance on food safety requirements. This can be downloaded from our food business and registration web page. In particular, please refer to page 9 which sets out the required standards for hand and equipment washing facilities.

Catering concessions already exist at the following sites:

  • Baiter
  • Branksome Chine Beach  *
  • Hamworthy Park
  • Poole Park *
  • Sandbanks Beach  *
  • Upton Country Park
  • Whitecliff

* These concessionaires must be offered the opportunity to provide catering for your event before other contracts are agreed.

Catering must be sensibly positioned away from children’s activity areas and near to water supplies and waste bins, etc. Adequate space (between 3 to 6 metres) should be left between catering facilities to prevent any risk of fire spread.

BBQ catering is permitted by professional caterers on a limited number of event sites. Disposable barbeques are not permitted on open green space sites. Please consult the community events team for further information.

For details of the catering operator at these sites, visit www.poole.gov.uk/cateringconcessions
