Disabled tax exempt permit

We carried out a consultation about the free parking concession currently offered to disabled tax exempt vehicle holders. Members have approved the introduction of a permit system to manage the scheme.

This related to proposals to change the scheme, following the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’s (DVLA) decision to remove the requirement for a tax disc to be displayed.

To ensure that disabled tax exempt vehicle holders continue to receive the parking concession, a permit needs to be obtained from us.

This is to replace the register we have currently set up, which came to an end on 30June 2016. There is a charge for the permits, dependant on circumstances.

Poole residents:

  • 1 year permit - £15
  • 3 year permit - £40

Residents who are in receipt of Council Tax Support are entitled to a free one year permit every year.

Non Poole residents:

  • 1 year permit - £25
  • 3 year permit - £60
