Poole (Dolphin) Leisure Centre consultation

One of our priorities is to promote Poole's economic growth and regeneration by attracting new business, housing and jobs. We have already started to deliver an ambitious regeneration programme across the town centre and the revitalised offer includes a new cinema, restaurants and car parking facilities.

A replacement leisure centre (on the Seldown Car Park site) is a key component and will help people lead healthy active lifestyles. It could also help to ensure the success of the overall scheme by enhancing the vision of the town centre as an attractive place to live and visit.

To ensure this is an affordable venture which benefits local people, we will work closely with partners, commercial developers, local businesses, the public and other stakeholders. The cost of the leisure centre needs to be considered within the overall regeneration scheme and the other community benefits we aim to deliver.

Tell us what you think

We asked Poole Dolphin Leisure Centre users, residents, sport groups and other stakeholders for their views on future proposals for a new leisure centre in the town centre.

Details of the proposals could be viewed in the information leaflet and respondents could give their views online or using a paper questionnaire.

The consultation closed at 12 noon on Wednesday 21 March 2018.

If you have any questions about the consultation, please contact the Corporate Research Team on 01202 633 086 or email research@poole.gov.uk.
