Recent changes in legislation mean that elected members (councillors) now have to register disclosable pecuniary (money related) interests and the authority has to make this available on its website. If applicable, the pecuniary interests of a member's spouse or civil partner have also to be declared should the member be aware of any such interest(s). The definitions of categories of declarable interests are detailed in Section 29 and 30 of the Localism Act 2011 and the Relevant Authorities (Disclosable Pecuniary Interests) Regulations 2012.
