Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles Consultation

Consultation

In line with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005, we have a duty to consult and determine our Statement of Principles. Following a review of all relevant documents, we are consulting on our Gambling Act 2005 Draft Statement of Principles. The Draft Statement of Principles document in the download section opposite explains how we will continue to implement those parts of the Gambling Act that the council are responsible for.

How do I make a comment?

A link to the document is being sent to all businesses in Poole who currently hold a Gambling Act licence with us and to all parties who are involved in the welfare of individuals who are involved in the gambling industry. Whilst this consultation is mainly for the trade, any person or company may register an interest by completing one of the attached questionnaires or by emailing environment@poole.gov.uk with your comments. If you have any queries regarding the draft policy or would prefer a paper copy of the document, then please contact Frank Wenzel on 01202 261700.

The consultation will run from 13 March 2017 until the 21 May 2017 inclusive, and any comments received in that time will be considered.

What happens next?

Once comments have been received, we will provide a list of all responses (anonymised) and feedback on whether these comments have been acted on or the reasons why they haven't. These will be made available following completion of the consultation on our website: www.poole.gov.uk or by request from:

Name:
The Head of Environmental Services

Address:
Unit 1
New Fields Business Park

Once consultation has been completed, the document will be presented to the Full Council of the Borough of Poole to be adopted. The finalised Statement of Principles will be published on this webpage and replace the existing Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles. The Statement of Principles is not a finite document and will be reviewed every 3 years. Any major changes will be consulted on.
