The consultation on the proposals regarding the Disabled Tax Exempt Vehicles Holder concessions ran from Tuesday 15th December 2015 until Friday 29th January 2016. This related to proposals to change the scheme, following the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’s (DVLA) decision to remove the requirement for a tax disc to be displayed.
The results were presented to Borough of Poole’s Transport Advisory Group on 10th March 2016 and Members approved the introduction of a permit system to manage the scheme, that came into effect on 1st July 2016,as below
To ensure that Disabled Tax Exempt Vehicle Holders continue to receive the parking concession, a permit needs to be obtained from the council.
This is to replace the register the council has currently set up, which came to an end on 30th June 2016. There is a charge for the permits, dependant on circumstances.
Borough of Poole residents 1 year permit @ £15
3 year permit @ £40
Borough of Poole residents who are in receipt of Council Tax Support are entitled to a free one year permit every year.
Non Borough of Poole residents 1 year permit @ £25
3 year permit @ £60
If you wish to continue to park without the need to purchase a ticket in Borough of Poole pay and display car parks, then a permit needs to be obtained from the council to ensure you can continue to receive the concession.
