Libraries - Computer and Internet Access - Image

All libraries have computers for the public to use free of charge with internet and Microsoft Office 2007 – Word, Excel and PowerPoint. All libraries have scanners and CD-ReWriters. Printing is also available at a small charge.

Anything saved on the public computers is automatically deleted overnight, so make sure you save your work to a USB flash drive or CD-RW. You are welcome to use your own USB flash drives, but please note that if your device has to install software or its own drivers it may not work on our computers.

We sell headphones in all libraries if needed.

Book a computer

You can book a computer in the following ways:

  • online
  • by phone on 01202 262424
  • in person at any library

You will need your library card number and PIN.

If you have booked a computer, you have five minutes to log in from the start time of your session. A session lasts 30 minutes but this can be extended to a maximum of 2 hours per day.

If you are under 16, you need to have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the computers. Forms are available in the library or download a copy of our Parent's Permission Form

Please also read our Acceptable Use Policy.
