Academy, foundation and voluntary aided schools have responsibility for determining their own admission arrangements, including catchment areas.
On 22 March 2016, Cabinet agreed that no changes will be made to community and voluntary controlled school catchments. Read the Report to Cabinet.
Since the report in December 2014, a number of schools in Poole have already converted to academy status, or are due to convert soon. For these schools the Local Authority will not be able to make any changes to their catchment areas.
It should be noted that academy, foundation and voluntary aided schools remain free to keep, change or remove their catchments.
