Maintained Nurseries are attached to schools and are registered and inspected by Ofsted under the school’s inspection system. They offer 15 hours per week of free quality education for your child the year before they are due to start school.
Maintained Nurseries are open during school hours, usually 9:00am to 3:30pm in term time only.
There are three Maintained Nurseries in the Borough of Poole:
Bearwood Primary School and Nursery School
Old Town Infant School and Nursery
Twin Sails Infant School and Nursery
If you child was born between 01/09/13 and 31/08/14 you can apply for a Maintained Nursery place for September 2017.

The closing date is 15 January 2017 and if you apply by the closing date you will be advised of the outcome of your application by letter posted on 18 April 2017.
Applications received after the closing date will be considered as 'late' and processed after all the applications received on time.
If your child attends a publicly funded or independentNursery that is attached to a publicly funded infant or primary school, there is no automatic right of entry to that school.
The Borough of Poole does not operate a feeder school policy for transfer from any Early Years setting into any infant or primary school.
You must complete an application form and it will be considered alongside all other applications for the school. Attending a particular nursery does not give your child priority over other applicants.
