The Community Right to Bid gives eligible community groups and voluntary sector organisations the right to register an asset of community value and the opportunity to bid to purchase it should it come up for sale.
The Act does not give an automatic right to the organisation to purchase the asset, nor is it guaranteed that the organisation’s offer will be accepted.
